Kmart In Yorktown Heights To Close

Forty-one employees will be affected, according to the state.

YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY — Yorktown will be losing its Kmart in the Yorktown Green Shopping Center.

A company spokesman said the store at 355 Downing Drive will close by mid-December, with liquidation sales to begin in mid-September, the Journal News reported.

A state Department of Labor notice dated Aug 29 said 41 employees will be let go.

The separations will occur Nov. 27 or during a 14-day period beginning on that date, according to the Department of Labor.

The big box store location was once inhabited by Caldor.
