Lakeland Copper Beech MS Welcomes Seniors to the "Beech"

It was “Seniors Go to the Beech Day” at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School as students and staff welcomed area senior citizens for a day of music, discussion and lunch on Friday, December 12.

Senior citizens from the Yorktown Heights Senior Center and the Seabury Assistive Living facility were invited to a luncheon. Students interviewed their guests and discussed a variety of topics with them. These topics included what school was like in their day and how has the community changed over the past few decades.

Following the luncheon, our distinguished guests were treated to a performance of holiday songs by Mrs. Sautner’s Chamber Orchestra group. “Go to the Beech Day” concluded with parting gifts of homemade cookies prepared by Mrs. Spano’s and Mrs. Flaherty’s classes.

“This was a wonderful event, coordinated by Mr. DiMeo and the Site-Based Team, where new friendships were formed and a fun time was had by all,” said Principal Robert Bergmann. “We look forward to seeing our new friends again in the spring,” he added.
