LCBMS Fifth Annual Hair-A-Thon Supports Children with Hair Loss
Donations go to Children with Hair Loss that was created as a resource for all children who have medical-related hair loss
Unlike Samson of ancient mythology, a haircut brought strength and assistance to those suffering from childhood hair loss due to childhood illness, May 6 at Hair Liberation in Jefferson Valley.
Thirty-one donors had 116 pony tails clipped as part of the 5th Annual Hair-A-Thon sponsored by Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School. Hair donations go to Children with Hair Loss (a non-profit organization) that was created as a resource for all children who have medical-related hair loss. It is their mission to empower these children to feel whole again by making the highest quality hairpieces available to families who may be financially challenged and might otherwise not have a means to obtain the hairpieces for their children.
Hair Liberation's Ricci Fonzo opened the salon to the middle school's Hair-A-Thon again this year as volunteer hair dressers were on hand to help in the hair cutting process.
We would like to extend our thanks to those who participated in and supported the event," said co-organizers Stephanie Hudson and Kim Cardillo.
