Local 60 Reps Visit Lakeland and Panas High Schools

Union Reps Visit Schools to Talk to Students About Post High School Careers

Frank Bisgnano, President & Training Director and Mike Cruz, Apprentice Coordinator from Laborers Local 60 visited with high school students at Lakeland Central School District.

This school year, both Lakeland & Walter Panas High Schools are including Union Rep visits along with the traditional College Rep visits to meet with students interested in pursing careers in Unions after high school. This partnership began last year when Michael Daly, a BOE Trustee facilitated a meeting between District & Union Leadership, which included a hands-on field trip to Local 60’s Training Facility in Brewster, NY.

Lakeland has 2 field trips scheduled this year at Local 60’s Training Facility and is currently working with other Local Unions as it seeks to expand its Career Exploration opportunities for their students. For more information on Local 60, please visit their website @ http://www.liunalocal60.com.
