Mahopac Woman Accused Of Shoplifting From Macy's

YORKTOWN, NY — A 19-year-old woman was accused of shoplifting clothing from Macy's. Yorktown police said Michele L. Ward, 19, of Mahopac, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said, around 6 p.m April 4, they received a report of a shoplifting complaint at Macy's. The person in question had left the scene in a blue Honda Civic, police said.

An officer located the car on Route 6 and said he found that Ward did leave the store without paying for the woman's clothing which was worth $149.

She was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department.

After being processed, Ward was issued an appearance ticket and was released on her own recognizance.

She is due by in Yorktown Justice Court May 7.
