Man, Woman Punched, Shoved Juvenile BJ's Employee 'Multiple Times Recklessly, Causing Physical Injury': Cops

The 53-year-old man and 54-year-old woman, both Yorktown residents, were charged with misdemeanor 3rd-degree assault.

YORKTOWN, NY — A case of retail rage left a teenage employee injured after an altercation at a Westchester store, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that 53-year-old Albert DeJesus and 54-year-old Daina Matos, both of Yorktown, were arrested and charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault.

According to Yorktown police, on January 17, around 5 p.m., officers reported to the BJ's Wholesale Club on Crompound Road, after receiving a report of an altercation inside.

After an investigation was conducted, police say DeJesus and Matos had an altercation with a juvenile employee, during which the pair allegedly punched and shoved the victim several times "recklessly, causing physical injury."

Both suspects were arrested and taken to Yorktown Police Department headquarters for processing.

DeJesus and Matos were arraigned by a judge and a temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the juvenile victim. They were released on their own recognizance, and are scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on Jan. 22.
