Manager Accused Of Locking In Beachgoers

Police said the manager of the private beach had a dispute with some of the members.

YORKTOWN, NY — The manager of a private beach is in trouble with the law for allegedly locking people in the property. Yorktown police said Thomas Maietto, 52, of Mohegan Avenue in Mohegan Lake, was charged with unlawful imprisonment, a misdemeanor.

Police said they were called around 5:45 p.m. June 24 with a trespassing complaint at a private Mohegan Lake beach.

The police officer found that Maietto, the beach manager, had a dispute with some of the beach’s members about the use of the facility.
