Lamana was born on Dec. 24, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland. His mother, Eleanor of Baltimore survives him; his father John predeceased him in 1993. The man received his BA degree from the University of Baltimore and married his wife of 33 ½ years, Jayne in October 1979.
In May 1980 he and Jayne left Maryland and Lamana started his professional journey working for Becton Dickinson, Ciba Geigy Corporation and eventually retiring from Vantico, a division of Ciba in 2003. Lamana was a V.P. and Chief Administrative Officer at the time of his retirement.

Besides his wife, Jayne, the man is survived by his children – both of whom brought tremendous joy and pride to his life. Bryan, age 29 and Lindsay, age 25.
Lamana was the epitome of a “hands on dad." He loved coaching both Bryan and Lindsay in all their sports and other activities. Many Somers families will remember Lamana as the coach of the original “Somers Warriors” soccer team. Those years were a very special time in his life.

Many of those “original” guys continued to support Lamana and his family when his health began to decline. The man and his family enjoyed yearly summer and winter vacations with his beloved sister and her family, Linda Amos and her husband Ed, and their children Lauren and Kristen.
In addition to Linda and Ed, Lamana is survived by his niece Lauren Sandy and her husband Steve and their daughter Stella. Also surviving are his niece, Kristin Lowry and her husband John, his niece Alison Lamana, and nephews Ryan and Nicholas Lamana. Lamana was predeceased by his brother Thomas in 2004.
