Mohegan Lake Man Accused Of Assault: Police

A judge issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake man was accused of assault by Yorktown police. Michael Converso, 57, was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Police said they responded to the Shell gas station at 930 East Main St. around 5:55 p.m. June 2 for a report of a fight in progress.

An investigation found that Converso struck the victim in his mouth causing injuries and extreme pain to the man, police said.

Converso was arrested and take to police headquarters for processing.

He was arraigned by a judge who issued a temporary order of protection on behalf of the victim.

Converso was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court June 21.
