Mohegan Lake Man Accused Of Harassing Woman
Police said the man was in violation of a duly served stay away order issued by a court in Pennsylvania.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Mohegan Lake man was accused of harassing a woman and preventing her from calling for help. Yorktown police said Luke Marji, 34, of Mohegan Lake, was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a felony; two counts of second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, misdemeanors, and second-degree harassment, a violation.
Police said, around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a Yorktown address.
The investigation found Marji went to the victim's home and pushed her into a wall. He was in violation of a duly served stay away order of protection issued by the Lackawanna Count Family Court in Pennsylvania, police said.

Marji also kept the victim from calling the police for assistance, police said.
He also caused $440 worth of damage to the victim's home and stole property from her valued at $800.

Marji was contacted by the police and voluntarily turned himself in to be arrested.
He was arraigned and bail was set at $2,500 or bond at $5,000.
An order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
Marji was release after posting bail to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 13.
