Mohegan Lake Mom Arrested For Driving Drunk With Child In Car

Police said she also had a previous conviction for DWI within the previous 10 years.

YORKTOWN, NY — Police arrested a 35-year-old Mohegan Lake woman for driving while drunk with a child in her car. Yorktown Police said Megan E. Blaufarb, 35, of Eleanor Drive in Mohegan Lake, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated–child 15 years or less in vehicle and aggravated driving while intoxicated, 0.18 percent or more blood-alcohol content, both felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Police said a call was received Dec. 27 reporting a possible domestic incident where one of the people left the scene in a vehicle.

Officers were dispatched and found Blaufarb on Cross Road. Police said she had been driving while intoxicated.

Police also said she had her 1-year-old child in the car while she was driving.

Blaufarb was arrested and taken to police headquarters where it was found she had been driving with a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more. She also had a previous conviction for DWI in the past 10 years.

She was charged and remanded on $10,000 bail. Blaufarb’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 4.
