More Improvements, More Costs for Costco: News Report

The Crompond store could open late in 2016.

At a recent planning board meeting, Yorktown officials continued to ask for more improvements while Costco representatives complained about the soaring costs of the Crompond Road project, according to YourYorktown.com.

“We’re solving some existing problems that nobody’s really giving us credit for,” Philip Grealy, a traffic engineer contracted by Costco, said at the meeting, YourYorktown.com reported. “I’ve seen people almost get killed waiting for a bus at that corner, and nobody’s doing anything about it. We’re going to take care of it. We should get credit for that.”

Costco is in front of the planning board for site plan approval. It is expected to be on the agenda at the Aug. 10 meeting.
