Nursing Home Employee Arrested For Attacking Disabled Resident: NYSP

SOMERS, NY — State police have arrested a Westchester nursing home worker after investigating the mistreatment of a patient.

Troopers from the Somers barracks arrested 51-year-old Jossette F. Thompson, of Dover, on June 11, for felony endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person, the New York State Police said on Wednesday.

An investigation found that Thompson, while employed at The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, physically attacked a disabled resident at the facility, according to New York State Police.

She was arraigned before the Town of Somers Court and was released on her own recognizance. Thompson is scheduled to reappear in court on Monday.
