NYC Woman Accused Of Stealing From Macy's

Police said she changed a price tag and tried to buy a coat for less than it was worth.

YORKTOWN, N — A 61-year-old New York City woman was accused of stealing from Macy's. Yorktown police said Lilia L. Gierer, 61, of New York, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said that, on March 11, an officer was sent to investigate the report of a shoplifter in custody at Macy's.

The officer said Gierer removed a price tag from a coat and replaced it with a cheaper price tag before she brought it to the register to try to buy it and leave the store with it.
