Ossining Man Accused Of Trying To Steal From Unlocked Car

When police got to the location, they found the car's owner holding the man down.

YORKTOWN, NY — An Ossining man was accused of rifling through a car and trying to steal from it.

Yorktown police said Jesse Ogden, 33, of Ossining, was charged with attempted petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said they received a report shortly before midnight Sunday from a homeowner who said he saw someone going through his unlocked car that was in his driveway.

When officers got to the location, they found the homeowner holding Ogden down, waiting for police to arrive.

Police said the investigation found he entered the homeowner's car unlawfully and tried to steal from it.

Ogden was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.

Ogden is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 11.
