Peekskill Man Drives Drunk, Without License: PD

The man was involved in a two-car accident to which police responded.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Peekskill man was accused of drunken driving after an accident Sunday.

The Yorktown Police Department said, shortly after 8:30 p.m., officers were sent to a two-vehicle accident on Route 202 near Garden Lane.

On arrival, officers identified Alejandro Quiroz Dutan, 48, of Peekskill, as one of the drivers.

The investigation found Dutan's car crossed over the double yellow line into the opposite land where it struck another car, police said.

It was found that he was intoxicated and did not have a driver's license, according to authorities.

Dutan was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

Police also found he had been driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more.

Dutan was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, and driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content of 0.08 percent or more, both misdemeanors. He was also charged with multiple traffic infractions, including fail to maintain lane and unlicensed operator.

After processing, he was issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult.

Dutan is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 10.
