Pelham Man Arrested For Making Threats At Yorktown Sports Club: Police

Police say the 44-year-old was screaming and intentionally interfering with officers' attempts to perform their duties.

YORKTOWN, NY — A dispute over a basketball game got more than a little heated at a local gym, according to police.

The Yorktown Police Department says that a 44-year-old man from Pelham was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and second degree obstructing governmental administration.

On Sunday, around 6:57 p.m., Yorktown police received reports of a problem at the Solaris Sports Club. Callers said that a man was screaming at people and threatening people at a basketball game.

When officers arrived on the scene, the man was identified. Police allege that the man was engaging in threatening and disruptive behavior and intentionally obstructed and interfered with the efforts of the officers to perform their duties and restore order.

Joseph Francis III was arrested and taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing.

He was then issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance. Francis is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court on November 7.
