Donations Jar Stolen
Police charged Ameet Dhillon, 27, from Peekskill, with petit larceny. On May 2 at 12:55 a.m. police were summoned to a 7-11 store to investigate a larceny complains. Employees of the store alleged that a donation jar was stolen from the counter and the suspect fled the scene. Officer Mundy was assigned to investigate and identified the defendant. Dhillon appeared at police headquarters for further investigation on May 5, which led to his arrest, police said. The man was released on his own recognizance and is due in court on May 19.

On May 5, police charged Anthony J. Pesola, 25, from Danbury, CT. with aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and speeding, a traffic infraction. Officer Nicholson was on routine patrol on Rt. 118 that day when he conducted a traffic stop for speeding. Further investigation revealed the man’s license had been suspended. Pesola was released on $200 bail and is due in court on June 7.
'Officer, I locked my keys'

On May 5 at noon a North Deerfield resident reported to police that she locked her keys in the car. The condition was corrected by Yorktown auto body for free, police said.
Stolen Foreign Currency and Prescription Drugs
On May 5 at 12:29 p.m. a Holyoke Street resident reported to police theft of foreign currency and prescription medication from his home while he was away. Police said more than $5,000 was stolen. Investigation to continue.
Teen Speeds, Causes Car to Roll Over
On May 5 at 8:39 p.m. police received a report about a car rollover on Greenwood Street. The 16-year-old Yorktown drive who lives on the street was speeding, police said. He had minor injuries and complaints of pain. His car was towed to the Yorktown auto body. No one else was injured.
Suspended Registration
Police charged Ashlea M. Zingro, 24, from Lake Peeksill, with suspended registration, a misdemeanor. On May 6 at 9:55 a.m. officer Sgroi was on patrol with a license plate reader when it allegedly “hit” on the defendant’s car indicating she had suspended registration. Zingaro was arrested and later released on $100 bail. She is due in court on June 7.
Teen Steals Slurpee Drink
Police charged a 17-year-old Cortlandt Manor male, with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. On May 6 at 2:30 p.m. police received a call from the manager at Shell 7-11 store reporting a shoplifter in custody. Allegedly the teen, whose name police did not release, had stolen a Slurpee valued at $1.39. The teen was released to a parent and is due in court on June 7.
Teens Drive Into LHS Ballfields, Cause Damage
Police arrested Anthony Guglielmo, 19, from Mahopac, and Christopher L. Reo, 21, from Shrub Oak for allegedly doing damage to the ballfield near Lakeland High School. On May 6 at 6:21 a.m. police received a report from a Shrub Oak resident reporting an unoccupied vehicle parked in the rear of the ballfield at the high school. Officer Matthew Iacona was dispatched to the scene and revealed the two young men, along with another unidentifiable male, allegedly drove a car onto the rear fenced in area. The damage is estimated to be $2,500, police said. On May 6, Guglielmo and Reo voluntarily appeared at police headquarters. Guglielmo was charged with criminal mischief and criminal trespass, misdemeanors. Reo was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass, misdemeanors and leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident, a traffic violation. They were both released on $100 bail each. Another arrest is pending in reference to the incident, police said.
Bitten by a Bat
On May 6 at 9:46 a.m. a Hickory Street resident reported to police that he was bitten by a bat while walking his dog. The bat was turned over to Westchester County Department where a test for rabies was negative, police said. The man suffered a small puncture on his hand.
Violation of an Order of Protection
Police charged an 18-year-old Yorktown male with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. On May 7 at 8 p.m. police responded to Yorktown High School on a report of a violation of a court issued order of protection. Officer Scatola and Sgt. Graham were assigned to investigate and determined the defendant was prohibited from being at the high school because the victim allegedly had an order of protection against him. Police did not release his name. He is due in court on May 9.
Suspended Registration
Police charged John McCabe, 33, from Yorktown, with suspended registration and aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors. On May 7 at 2:10 p.m. officer Dillon was on patrol on Lee Road with a license plate reader when it “hit” on the suspended license plates. He conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver. A DMV check revealed his license was suspended allegedly for insurance not in effect, police said. He was released on $100 bail and is due in court on June 9.
Drunk Driver Arrested
Police charged Michelle Munroe, 43, from Peekskill, with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol level content of more than .08 percent, misdemeanors. On May 7 at 12:05 a.m. police received a report about a person driving erratically on Rt. 202. The vehicle was located and after investigating the complaint, the woman was arrested for allegedly driving drunk. She was released to a family member and is due in court on June 9.
Suspended License
Police charged Christopher Rivera, 21, from Lake Peekskill, with aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. On May 7 at 9:45 a.m. officer Pavletich was assigned to investigate a vehicle accident on Underhill Avenue. A routine license check revealed the operator had his license suspended for an alcohol related offense. Rivera was released on $100 bail and is due in court on June 9.
Man Threatens Victim with Mop Handle
Police charged Joseph D. Fragano, Jr., 40, of Yorktown, with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor. On May 5 at 1 a.m. police received a report of a domestic dispute. Officer Dipietrantonio was assigned to investigate and determined the man had allegedly threatened another person with a mop handle. He was arrested at the scene and transported to police headquarters.
Teen in Possession of Pot and Cocaine
Police charged Ismael Perez, III, 19, from Cortlandt Manor, with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. On May 8 officer Rapisarda was on routine patrol when he saw the defendant in the parking lot of Oak Street Beach. The defendant was allegedly in possession of pot and cocaine, police said. He was released on $500 bail and is due in court on June 9.
Dishwasher Fire
On May 8 at 11:21 p.m. a Bridge Pointe Lane resident reported to police a possible dishwasher fire. The Yorktown Heights Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to put it out. No was was hurt.
Concerned Neighbor
On May 9 at 12:26 a.m. police received a report that a car was running for the past 1/2 hour unattended and one was answering the door at the residence. The contact was made with the homeowner, police said. Everything was ok.
'Mom, Pay my Bill'
On May 9 at 9:33 p.m. police received a report of two 16-year-old females trying to leave the Mohegan Diner without paying and were giving the management a had time. Officers Foley and Rapisarda were dispatched to the scene. The teens allegedly didn’t have money, police said. One of the teen’s mom came to the diner and paid the $42-bill.
Motorcycle Accident
On May 9 at 6:30 a.m. a 43-year-old Ossining male driving his motorcycle on Rt. 134 got got into an accident. He swirled to avoid an oncoming vehicle, police said, and went off the roadway. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Norther Westchester Hospital Center via the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Good Samaritans
On May 9 at 12:20 p.m. police received numerous calls about an elderly male pedestrian who had gone into a cardiac arrest on Rt. 100 near Dell Avenue. Police said strangers stopped their cars, got out and initiated CPR on the 73-year-old man. New Castle and Yorktown Police officers continued the CPR. The man was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital, where he is still in critical condition, police said, but he is alive.
Screaming Coyote
On May 10 at 3 a.m. a Hunterbrook road resident reported hearing screams. Officers checked the area, but found nothing. They said it was possibly coyotes.
Missing Teen
On May 10 at 12:39 p.m. a Stony Street resident reported a 15-year-old male run away from the Phoenix Academy. Police said he had walked off the campus and was later located by officer Brian Nicholson on Rt. 202 and transported back.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
On May 10 at 6:46 p.m. a 13-year-old boy bicyclist was hit by a car when he was coming down his driveway and onto a residential street. The boy was transported to the Westchester Medical Center. No summonses were issued to the 47-year-old Mohegan Lake driver. There were no non-life threatening injuries, but the boy did have some broken bones. The accident investigation team was called to scene to conduct an investigation.
