Police Bust Somers Massage Business

Two employees face unlicensed massage charges; one also faces a prostitution charge.

A compliance check at Ya Ya’s Nail & Spa on Route 202 in Somers resulted in felony charges against two employees.

The check was conducted Nov. 24 by New York State police and the Somers Police Department, with assistance from the New York State Education Department’s Licensing Division.

Two employees, Xiaomei Zheng, 44, and Qiumei Zhang, 44, were charged with Unauthorized Practice of a Profession (E-Felony) for performing body massages without any form of licencing. They are both Flushing, NY residents.

Zhang was additionally charged with Promoting Prostitution in the 4th Degree as a result of sexual contact she had engaged in with a customer just prior to the compliance check.

Both subjects were processed and released on Appearance Tickets directing them to appear in the Town of Somers Court Dec. 1.
