Police ID Remains Found In Car In Muscoot Reservoir

The woman whose body was found was last seen in 1989.

SOMERS, NY — The human remains found in a station wagon that was pulled from the Muscoot Reservoir Jan. 19 have been identified.

White Plains police said the body of Brenda Kerber was found in the vehicle, the Journal News reported.

She went missing in September of 1989 and is believed to have died in a suicide by drowning.

Kerber's identity was confirmed through dental records, News 12 said.

Her family has been notified, authorities said.

The New York City Department of Environmental Protection found the vehicle in the reservoir during a routine check on the city's water supply.

The station wagon was towed away to be analyzed by the New York State Police.
