Police Shut Down Somers Pot-Growing Operation

The arrest was the result of the execution of a search warrant.

SOMERS, NY — The execution of a search warrant in Somers led to the seizure of marijuana plants.

The State Police said the suspected marijuana-growing operation yielded two marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana from the residence.

A 17-year-old whose name was not released was arrested and charged with unlawfully growing cannabis, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

He was also charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, regarding an unrelated burglary investigation from June.

The 17-year-old was released on an appearance ticket to return to court at a future date.
