Rockland Man Drives Drunk In Yorktown: PD

Police were initially called to a single-car accident in the town.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Rockland man was accused of drunken driving in Yorktown.

The Yorktown Police Department said Juan Narvaez-Sanchez, 36, of West Haverstraw, was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, and open container of alcoholic beverage, speed not reasonable and prudent, move from lane unsafely and driving on shoulder, traffic infractions.

Police said, just before 4 p.m. Sunday, there was a report of a single-car crash on Strawberry Road.

When the investigation at the scene was completed, police said Narvaez-Sanchez had been driving while intoxicated by alcohol and had an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the car. He also committed other traffic infractions.

After being processed, he was issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible adult.

Narvaez-Sanchez is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 24.
