Single-Car Crash Leads To DWI Accusation

Police said the man wasn't staying in his lane while driving.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of driving while drunk after crashing his car. Yorktown police charged Robert Viglione, 60, of Yorktown, with driving while intoxicated, first offense, and aggravated driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content 0.18 percent or higher, misdemeanors.

Police said, around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, there was a single vehicle accident on Mohansic Avenue East.

The officer identified the driver of the crashed vehicle as Viglione.

Police said he was intoxicated and failed to stay in his lane.

Viglione was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing. It was determined that he was driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent or more, police said.

He was issued traffic tickets and released on his own recognizance to a responsible third party.

Viglione is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court July 23.
