Somers Thanksgiving Turkey Trot Open For Registration

SOMERS, NY — It's time once again to put on your running shoes and work up an appetite for your big holiday meal by participating in the third annual Somers Track and Field Booster Club Thanksgiving Turkey Trot.

Both the 5K Trail Race and the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place Thursday, Nov. 25.

Organizers said the 5K race will start at 8 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m. There is a $30 trot fee plus a $2.74 sign-up fee. The price increases to $35 Nov. 1.

The registration fee includes a 2021 commemorative T-shirt guaranteed for the first 150 registrants. You must register by Oct. 15 to choose your shirt size.

The fun run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m. There's a $10 trot fee plus a $1.58 sign-up fee. Registration ends November 24.

The fun run's registration fee includes metals for all participants.

Both events will take place at Somers High School, 120 Primrose St. in Somers.

FYI, organizers said to leave your dogs at home because they are not allowed on the school grounds.
