Stabbing Suspect Barricaded Himself Inside Westchester Home: NYSP
The stabbing victim, who was found outside the residence in Somers, was rushed to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

SOMERS, NY — A knife attack left one Westchester resident in the hospital and another in the county jail on felony charges.
On July 17, shortly after midnight, state troopers were dispatched to a report of two people fighting at a home in Somers. Upon arrival, a stabbing victim was found injured outside and a suspect barricaded inside.
The suspect, later identified as Andres Mendoza Gomez, was removed from the residence without being injured. Investigators believe he attacked the victim with a knife causing lacerations.

The victim was taken to Westchester Medical for treatment. Mendoza Gomez was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
New York State Police from the Somers barracks arrested 47-year-old Mendoza Gomez, of Somers, for felony second degree assault, misdemeanor second degree menacing and misdemeanor fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Following Mendoza Gomez’s release from the hospital, he was arrested and brought to Somers Court for arraignment where he was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $2,500 bond.
