State Police Conduct Underage Alcohol Sales Initiative
Ten establishments were targeted by the police.

SOMERS, NY — An underage drinking initiative was conducted Friday, Oct. 6 by the New York State Police in Somers and the surrounding area. The initiative targeted the sale of alcohol to minors and consisted of a team of State Police members.
An underage male operative was utilized with the team to attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages from 10 establishments in the Westchester County towns of Somers, North Salem, Pound Ridge and Lewisboro. The following eight establishments complied and refused to sell alcoholic beverages to the undercover operative:

- Scotts Corners Market, T/Pound Ridge
- South Salem Wine and Liquor, T/Lewisboro
- Cameron’s Deli Cross River, T/Lewisboro
- Somers Mobil Mart, T/Somers
- Somers Sunoco, T/Somers
- Shell Gas Station, T/North Salem
- Salem Liquors, T/Lewisboro
- Vista Market. T/Lewisboro
The following two establishments sold alcoholic beverages to the undercover operative:
- Pound Ridge Wine and Spirits T/Pound Ridge
- Rocky's Deli T/Somers
The clerks were each charged with state Alcoholic Beverage Control Law violations of prohibited sales of alcoholic beverages to a minor.
