State Police Conduct Underage Drinking Enforcement Check
Troopers from the Somers barracks led the initiative in Westchester County.

SOMERS, NY — The New York State Police conducted an underage drinking initiative Wednesday in Westchester County.
Troopers from the Somers barracks checked 18 retail establishments for compliance using a trooper in plainclothes and someone who was not of legal drinking age and who had a valid New York driver's license.
Police said all 18 stores refused to sell any alcoholic beverages to the underage operative.

State police said they routinely conduct underage drinking enforcement operations throughout the state in an effort to curb alcohol abuse and DWI incidents involving teenagers.
