Summer Wrestling Camp at Iowa Style Wrestling

Join us to learn about excellence in character and performance on the mat, while stressing the learning of life-skills off of it.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to join some of the top wrestlers in the country as they pursue excellence at this year’s camp at Iowa Style Wrestling in Somers, NY. The camp will include technique and live wrestling, and will be held Monday through Thursday, July 20th – 23rd. The camp will give wrestlers and coaches an opportunity to gain valuable insight on what it takes to be successful at the highest levels of wrestling in high school and college from clinicians who have lived it. Students can expect to learn about excellence in character and performance on the mat, while stressing the importance of learning life-skills off the mat, from confidence to the relentless pursuit of dreams.

This year, featured coaches include Pat Popolizio, NC State Head Coach, and John Degl, ISW Owner and Coach. Additional counselors will include current NC State team members Nick Gwiazdowski, Sam Speno, Kevin Jack, Sam Melikian and other top names in wrestling. Camp has a 10:1 ratio of coaches to wrestlers. Camp is available for students of all ages, including youth, middle, and high school groups.

About Iowa Style Wrestling

We do not measure success with medals or trophies. We believe that an individual is successful when he or she continually commits to close the gap between his or her performance and his or her potential, and when he or she understands that such a commitment represents a way of life, not merely a means to an end. Iowa Style Wrestling provides the tools that student-athletes need in order to undertake such commitments. Success is a journey, and not a destination.

At Iowa Style Wrestling, located in Somers, NY, our goal is to use wrestling as a vehicle to promote a healthy lifestyle. Wrestling provides young men and women with mental tools to approach life in a positive, “can do” manner. Obstacles are looked at as challenges by wrestlers - not problems. Excuses are not part of our culture.
