Town Board discusses requirements under Affordable Care Act

The Board discussed various reporting requirements under the Affordable Care Act and whether it should purchase special software for task.

1. Benefits administration
A benefits consulting firm made a presentation to the board about its software and technical support program that can assist the town handle its reporting and record keeping requirements under the Affordable Care Act.

2. Water Pollution Control Plant & UV Bid
The DEP will pay to replace the microfilter at the sewage treatment plant that is at the end of its useful life.

3. Sparkle Lake Dam
The project will cost $12,000 more because of design changes required by the DEC.

4. Small Business Association/Parking
Bob Giordano of the Small Business Association discussed creating more parking spaces in the Heights area for the benefit of local businesses.

5. Hallocks Mill Road traffic
A resident asked the board to do something about speeding on Hallocks Mill Rd.

6. Water Department issues
It was explained that some customers recently received bills that were higher than previous ones because the bill covered five months instead of the usual four.

7. Board meetings on website
The problem uploading videos of Town Board meetings to the town’s web site remain unresolved.

The next Town Board meeting will be November 18th.
