Town Board votes to increase tax rate in Preliminary Budget
The proposed 2015 "Town" tax rate is 4.96% based on adding $313,750 to expenses and reducing the use of fund balance by $450,000.

After a day and half of meetings with department heads and discussions among themselves, the board adopted a series of resolutions that modified the supervisor’s Tentative 2015 Budget to become the 2015 Preliminary Budget.
By adding some expenses to the Genera, Library and Highway Funds and reducing the amount of fund balance taken from the three funds, the resulting “Town” tax rate went to 4.96% from 0.87%.
Small changes were made to the Refuse and Osceola and Yorktown Sewer funds.
The 2015 budget is $198,396 under its permitted tax levy cap.
The date for the budget hearing was changed to Thursday, December 11 from Wednesday, December 10.
