'Tree of Life' Kick-off Set for Jefferson Valley Mall

The tree-lighting ceremony is free and open to the public.

YORKTOWN, NY — The 28th annual Tree of Life will kick off Friday at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Hospice Care in Westchester and Putnam, along with the mall, will hold the tree lighting ceremony from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the mall’s north main entrance, 650 Lee Boulevard.

The ceremony is free and open to the public, organizers said.

Tom Furci, of WHUD FM, will be the host.

The public will be able to purchase a personalized dove for $25 to hang on the tree, celebrating the life of a loved one.

Attendees will have the opportunity to remember and honor special individuals while supporting Hospice’s health care services.

During the event, people will be able to enjoy a special presentation from the Visiting Nurses Association of Hudson Valley and musical entertainment by Taghkanic Chorale of Yorktown.

The Tree of Life will be on display through Dec. 24.
