U.S. Senator Schumer Backs Gashi For NYS Assembly

Vedat Gashi wins key endorsement by the Hon. Chuck Schumer, U.S. Senator, D-NY

Yorktown, NY (November 2, 2018) – With less than a week until election day, Vedat Gashi, candidate for New York State Assembly, earned yet another key endorsement from United States Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY. This support adds to Gashi’s gaining momentum in his head-to-head run for New York’s 94th Assembly district against incumbent Kevin Byrne (R).

“Families across New York are struggling, they’re tired of empty promises, and they want to see results” said Schumer. “Vedat Gashi knows firsthand about the challenges working families face. I’m confident he’s the right person to be the next Assemblyman for the 94thdistrict, addressing the issues that concern the people of his community most.”

Gashi has already won the support of the Democratic, Independent, Working Families and Women’s Equality parties. He’s also been endorsed by many unions and non-profit groups such as SEIU 32BJ, 1199, and Retail, Wholesale, and Department Union, Moms Demand Action and New York State Immigration Action Fund.

“Now more than ever, our community is in dire need of leaders who can stand by their record and welcome differing perspectives to yield better outcomes,” said Gashi. “It’s time for fresh ideas, agile thinking and whole-hearted efforts to bring our community together. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the people of Northern Westchester and Putnam Counties.”

Gashi, a leading real estate attorney, is a longtime resident of Yorktown, where he lives with his wife and their two young children. He is a graduate of Lakeland High School, Connecticut College and Seton Hall Law School.
