Unlicensed Dog Bites Person: Police

Not licensing a dog is a violation of the town code, officials said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown woman was accused of failing to license her dog, after the dog bit someone.

Yorktown police said a 45-year-old Yorktown woman, was charged with failure to license dog, a town code violation.

Police said around 5:45 p.m. Jan. 6 they received a report of a dog bite and an officer responded to investigate.

The Yorktown resident was identified as the owner of the dog.

Police said she did not register the dog with the town.

On Wednesday, the woman was served with a criminal summons for the charge.

She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court March 9.
