VT Woman Accused Of Stealing A Van

Authorities said the vehicle was stolen from Essex, Vermont.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Vermont woman was accused by Yorktown police of stealing a car.

The Yorktown Police Department said Sharon L. Hoskins, 74, of Burlington, Vermont, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony.

Police said, around 4 p.m. July 27, an officer took a report from Hoskins on what was described as an unrelated matter.

Following an investigation, it was found that she was in possession of a stolen 2021 Ford Transit van that had been reported stolen in Essex, Vermont.

On Thursday, Hoskins returned to the police department for another matter and was found to still have the van.

She was arrested, processed and released on her own recognizance.

Hoskins is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 26.
