Weather Alert: Up to an Inch of Snow Possible Tonight

Beware slippery roads in Somers and Yorktown due to the mix of rain and snow expected to come through this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service warns of rain and snow coming to northern Westchester County this afternoon and evening.

There’s a storm coming that will pass to our south—another Alberta Clipper—but with snow along its northern fringe. Where, exactly, is always the question. Bill Potter at Hudson Valley Weather expects the I-84 corridor to be most likely. And though the sun is strong enough to make accumulation on paved roads more difficult, it’s not impossible.

“The Hudson Valley could see a “thump” of heavy wet snow… with the potential to cause some significant headaches Tuesday afternoon and evening,” says Hudson Valley Weather.

Up to an inch could accumulate before the snow ends around midnight, the NWS says.
