WEATHER UPDATE: Freeze Watch Issued for Northern Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties
It appears the cold weather isn't going away anytime soon, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service has issued a “Freeze Watch” for northern Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties beginning late tonight and into Saturday morning.
Hazards include “sub-freezing temperatures,” as temps are expected to be in the mid-20s to 32 degrees.
Such weather can have to the potential to kill “sensitive crops and plants,” the NWS says.

The weather service issued a Freeze Warning Thursday, but is only calling for a “watch” tonight.
“If you thought Thursday was bad… close your eyes, because Friday isn’t looking much better,” writes Bill Potter of HudsonValleyWeather.com. “Friday night is another night that could see the threat of frost and freeze. Winds should die down, and that should allow temps to fall near or below freezing.”
