WEATHER UPDATE: Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Rockland, Putnam and Northern Westchester County
Southern Westchester County also will see rain Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

There is the potential for it to be another stormy day on Tuesday as the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for much of the Hudson Valley.
Communities in Rockland, Putnam and northern Westchester County received the NWS alert, which states that thunderstorms could produce “damaging winds and/or large hail primarily this afternoon into early evening.”
Though not as stern a warning, communities in southern Westchester County will likely see thunderstorms and the possibility of small hail Tuesday afternoon and evening.

“The severe weather that covered a large area on Monday across the eastern U.S. formed along an upper-level system, which will be moving into the Northeast Tuesday,” says AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Matt Rinde.
Hudson Valley Weather’s Bill Potter says that the best chances of storms Tuesday are this morning and again later in the afternoon and evening.

“High humidity will create atmospheric instability… and that could give rise to a shower and just about any point on Tuesday,” Potter writes. “The best chance will be early in the day… and then again late in the day.”
And don’t think we’re out of the woods after Tuesday. More rain is possible in the region on Thursday.
