WEATHER UPDATE: When Will the Rain End?

The Flood Watch was canceled for Yorktown and Somers.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for southeastern New York - which includes Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties.

Rains are not expected to end until later this evening, though the Flash Flood Watch was canceled for the entire region. Besides the rain, temperatures will feel significantly cooler than normal as the highs will be stuck in the mid 50s.

The NWS lists Westchester County Airport as receiving 3.09 inches of rainfall since Monday, and Spring Valley in Rockland receiving 3 inches.

Wednesday looks to be mostly sunny, as highs will return to mid-60s, and possibly reach the 70s in some parts of the Hudson Valley. Thursday’s forecast appears to be similar, though there is a slight chance of showers returning Thursday evening in some areas.

“Wednesday we’ll see some major improvements, as sunshine and blue skies take over the Hudson Valley,” writes Hudson Valley Weather’s Bill Potter. “ We should also see highs push into the 70s, giving us a very welcome change of pace.”
