Isolated showers and thunderstorms have surprised some sections of northern Westchester County this morning.

The county will continue mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of storms will continue as the heat rises on a hot and humid Sunday.

“Not everyone will get a storm, but roughly half of the Hudson Valley appears likely to get in on the action,“ Bill Potter from Hudson Valley Weather points out. “ In a situation like this, the best thing to do is use the HVW Interactive Radar to zoom in to your location, and track the storms. This way you can know if rough weather is heading toward your location.”
