Wild Taconic Police Chase Starts In Southern Westchester, Ends Abruptly In Putnam

A New Rochelle woman wanted for car theft in Pelham Manor, was tracked by WCPD Real Time Crime, and pursued by NYSP and Yorktown PD.

YORKTOWN, NY — A New Rochelle woman had a busy day, according to police.

The New York State Police say that on Tuesday, around 12:33 p.m., members of the Troop K Community Stabilization Unit, with help from the Yorktown Police Department and the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, tried to stop a stolen 2020 Toyota RAV4 traveling north on the Taconic State Parkway, in the Town of Yorktown. The vehicle had been broadcast by the Westchester Real Time Crime Center.

After the driver failed to comply, a pursuit started, during which the driver intentionally struck a Yorktown Police Department patrol vehicle, according to state police. The officer was not injured.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device near Pudding Street, and the RAV4 later crashed on the Taconic State Parkway, in the Town of Kent.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Keanna L. Hogue, of New Rochelle, tried to flee on foot, but was soon taken into custody.

Hogue was taken to State Police Stormville and was charged with felony second-degree criminal mischief; felony third-degree criminal possession of stolen property; six misdemeanor counts of second-degree reckless endangerment; misdemeanor second-degree obstruction of governmental administration; misdemeanor third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle; and several vehicle/traffic violations.

After processing, Hogue was turned over to the Pelham Manor Police Department, which was investigating the vehicle theft.

The New York State Police thanked the Yorktown Police Department, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, and the Westchester Real Time Crime Center for their help.
