Woman Accused Of Having Suspended License, No Insurance

Police said the woman's privilege to drive in New York was suspended three times on three separate dates.

YORKTOWN, NY — A White Plains woman was accused of driving without a license, registration or insurance.

The Yorktown Police Department said, around 10:15 p.m. Monday, an officer was sent to check out a suspicious vehicle.

The officer said he saw a car traveling on Gomer Street that failed to stay in its lane.

A traffic stop was initiated on London Road and Praycious I. Leon, 29, of White Plains, was identified as the driver.

Police said a computer check at the scene found that Leon's driving privilege in New York was suspended three times on three separate dates and that the vehicle's registration was also suspended.

Her license was expired, the vehicle's inspection was expired, and the vehicle was uninsured, police said.

Leon was arrested, processed and issued traffic tickets.

She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Aug. 12.
