Woman Drives Drunk With Child In Car: Police
Authorities said the woman had a previous conviction for DWI within the past 10 years.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Putnam County woman was accused of drinking while driving while she had a child in the car.
The Yorktown Police Department said Jennifer MacDonald, 43, of Mahopac, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, child in vehicle; driving while intoxicated, previous conviction in 10 years, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, all felonies, and operate vehicle without interlock device and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.
Police said, around 7:20 a.m. Saturday, officers were sent to investigate a report of a single-car accident on East Main Street in Jefferson Valley.

The car had struck a utility pole, police said, and MacDonald was identified as the driver.
Police said she was intoxicated and had been driving with a 12-year-old child in the rear seat.

MacDonald was arrested and taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, after which she was taken to police headquarters for processing.
Authorities said they found she had a previous conviction for DWI within the last 10 years. Additionally, MacDonald was operating the car without an interlock device.
She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance.
MacDonald is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 23.
