Yonkers Woman Accused Of Stealing From Macy's

Police said the woman took more than $5,000 worth of merchandise.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yonkers resident was accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Macy's in Yorktown.

Yorktown police said, shortly after 4 p.m. Oct. 10, an officer was sent to investigate a report of theft from the department store.

Police said it was found that Yolanda Emery, 60, of Yonkers, was identified as the person who stole more than $5,000 worth of merchandise from Macy's.

An arrest warrant was issued with the charge being third-degree grand larceny, a felony, police said.

On Monday, Yorktown police were notified by the Westchester County Police that Emery was in custody for an unrelated incident.

She was taken to the Yorktown Police Department where she was arrested.

Emery was arraigned, after which she was sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections without bail.

She is due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 2.
