Yorktown Has Every Reason To Burst With Pride This Weekend

Yorktown For Justice will be hosting the Fourth Annual Northern Westchester-Yorktown Pride celebration this Saturday.

YORKTOWN, NY — Pride Month will soon be coming to a close, but not before one of the Hudson Valley's biggest and most storied festivals marches into town.

Yorktown For Justice (YFJ) will be hosting the Fourth Annual Northern Westchester-Yorktown Pride event this Saturday. A full schedule of festivities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community is planned.

Yorktown's Pride Festival Celebration will take place at Railroad Park, located at 1826 Commerce Street in Yorktown Heights, from noon to 4 p.m.

Westchester's only Pride March will step off from Railroad Park at 1 p.m., loop through town, and circle back.

"During this time of escalating attacks on the LGBTQI+ community through legislation throughout the country, hate crimes and traction-gaining regressive and harmful cultural narratives about queerness, YFJ wants to reiterate that there is no place in our community and schools for intolerance," Marisa Ragonese, President of Yorktown For Justice, said. "We invite town leaders to acknowledge this day in accordance with proclamations issued by Yorktown and show that hate has no home here by flying a Pride flag at Town Hall throughout the day on June 29. We are asking residents and businesses to do the same."
