Yorktown Heights' Ann Hunt Raymond Dies At 103

She was born in Ireland and came to the United States in 1930.

YORKTOWN, NY — Ann Hunt Raymond of Yorktown Heights died peacefully on March 21, 2017, at the age of 103.

She was born on Feb. 14, 1914, in County Sligo, in the west of Ireland, in the town of Mount Irwin. She was the daughter of Patrick Hunt and Mary Tansey.

Ann came to the United States in 1930 and lived in New York City with her maternal Uncle Michael Tansey and Aunt Mary Ann McDonough Tansey and cousins Marie, Kathleen and Eleanor. Ann married James Gordon Raymond on Sept. 14, 1940, and had four children, James, Carole, Kathleen and Mary. She was predeceased by her daughter Kathleen in 1978 and husband Jimmy in 1988. She is survived by her children and their families: son James Raymond (Marlene) of South Orange, NJ, grandson Michael Raymond (Emily) of Houston, TX; daughter Carole Dorfman (John) of Slingerlands, NY, granddaughter Suzanne Busche (Marc) of Bensberg, Germany, great-grandchildren Maximilian and Isabella, Nathaniel Dorfman (Vivian) and Alexandra of Slingerlands, NY; son-in-law Bernard Prendergast and granddaughter Bethann (Willow) of Burlington, VT; daughter Mary Baginski (Ken) of Claremont, CA, grandchildren Andrew (Kristen) of NYC, Daniel (Libbet) of NYC and Casey of Philadelphia, PA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews in the US, Ireland and UK.

Funeral Services were held at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights, St. Patrick’s Church and Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family is very grateful to all the staff and workers at Field Home – Holy Comforter in Cortlandt Manor for providing a caring and loving home for Ann for the past six years.
