Yorktown HS Yearbook Wins Award

"The Emerald" is produced and planned by students.

YORKTOWN, NY — The yearbook of Yorktown High School — The Emerald —received a first place award in the 2016 American Scholastic Press Association contest and review.

According to information on the Yorktown school district website, the yearbook is produced and planned by student members of the yearbook club, led by advisers Benedetta Varotta and Daniel Moore.

Principal Joseph DeGennaro said the school was proud of the yearbook staff.

“The yearbook chronicles the school year and the many achievements of students, YHS clubs, athletes and artists,” he said.

“[T]he leadership of our advisers and efforts by the students are outstanding and the annual final product reflects it,” DeGennaro said.
