Yorktown Lions Roar into Spring

The Yorktown Lions will be hosting a number of spring events, as well as volunteering to assist other organizations.

The Yorktown Lions Roaring into Spring

The Yorktown Lions have set quite an agenda for early 2022 by sponsoring an array of activities and assisting other organizations with their events.

The Lions will be helping the Yorktown Grange serve a pancake breakfast in its celebration of New York State’s maple syrup. The dates for the pancake breakfast, which includes maple syrup from Yorktown’s White Oak Farm and sausage and bacon from Cortlandt’s Hemlock Farms, will be March 19,20, 26, and 27. The Lions are one of the sponsors and are providing volunteers for the Blue Path Walk at FDR Park on Saturday, May 14. Blue Path of Hopewell Junction provides service dogs to children on the autism spectrum. The walk begins at 9:00 AM. For more information, go to its website.

The Yorktown Lions will be conducting the following events: Casino Night on March 23 at Yorktown Assisted Living, Easter Egg Hunt on April 9 at Downing Park, Snow Flake Dance at Beaver Ridge Apartments in April, Derby Day on May 7, Golf Outing on Monday, June 6th at Somers National Golf Course (Heritage Hills), and the summer concert series starting on June 26. The concert series concludes with a military appreciation program on August 28.

The Easter Egg Hunt, which the Lions co-sponsor with the Yorktown Parks and Recreation Department, takes place on Saturday, April 9 (rain/snow backup date is Saturday, April 16. The “Egg Hunt” will be divided into three times: 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30. Check the Lions’ website and/or Yorktown Parks and Recreation website on how these times will be separated by ages.

Additional details about the Yorktown Lions’ events will be forthcoming and will be posted on the Lions’ website. Also, the Yorktown Lions’ post their events on the Town of Yorktown’s calendar.
