Yorktown Man Accused Of Burglary, Assault
Police said he grabbed a woman by her throat and pushed her to the ground, as well as damaged her home.
YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of breaking into a woman's home and assaulting her. Yorktown police said Ira Levine, 50, of Yorktown, was charged with second-degree burglary, a felony, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree assault, misdemeanors.
Police said, around 8 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to a town residence because of a reported domestic incident. When they got there, officers said one of the people involved had fled from the scene.
The victim — a woman — identified the assailant as Levine, police said, but he wasn't immediately able to be found.

Police said Levine had caused damaged to the woman's home and grabbed her by neck and pushed her to the ground.
He also later forced his way into her home and prevented her from calling 911.

Around 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Levine was located at the residence and was placed under arrest.
After being processed, he was arraigned and had bail set at $7,500. The judge issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim.
Levine was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Sept. 8.
