Yorktown Man Accused of Choking, Menacing Woman

Police said he had a knife during the attack.

YORKTOWN, NY — A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly choking a woman.

Yorktown Police said Neil M. Quinn of Yorktown was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.

On September 5 around 11 p.m., police said they received a call from a woman on Summit Street reporting a domestic dispute in progress.

Officers responded to the scene and said Quinn had choked the woman an brandished a knife.

He was processed at police headquarters and arraigned in court, during which he was served with a temporary order of protection.

Quinn was released on his own recognizance to return to Yorktown Court September 27.
