Yorktown Man Accused Of Shoplifting At ACME

The man is scheduled to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court March 26.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown man was accused of shoplifting from a supermarket. Yorktown police said Saverio Cappelli, 56, was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

Police said, around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were sent to ACME supermarket for a report of a theft.

The investigation found Cappelli stole merchandise worth about $135.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing

Cappelli was issued an appearance ticket and released on his own recognizance.
